The Meadows Festival

This weekend we joined some friends and headed to the Meadows Festival, surprisingly held in Edinburgh's meadows! It is held every year but felt pretty special this year as we were off on Monday so lying back drinking beer in the sun on a Sunday afternoon was allowed :-)

There were lots of stalls selling various bits off tat, and I mean tat in the best possible sense of the world, I love it and could wander around them for ages.

And a stage with bands and dancers on it all afternoon, and look at the blue sky!! :-)

As we were wandering around the stalls we came across some pretty great finds, like this Japanese lady lamp!! But no amount of begging would convince Rod to have it in our home... gutted!!

Then there were these lights, which we thought if they matched would be fantastic in our hallway but at £50 for the two I was a bit nervous about tackling secondhand electrical stuff.

There was also some amazing looking picture frames

And some pallets that we were sure we could make into something awesome but we didn't know what.

And this awesome chest which we were tempted to buy and turn into a window seat in our livingroom's bay window.

In the end I came home with these two candle sticks,Our friend tried to haggle with the seller but she wasn't budging at all!! But at £8 for the two of them I thought that was pretty good value.

They are currently sitting by the fireplace waiting for the next trip to Ikea when we can pick up some big fat candles.

Do you guys have festivals like this? Which bit of "tat" was your favourite?

  1. Love those candlesticks! But I really can't get over the pic of the blue sky and greenery- everything is so bright and fresh looking! Seems like a really lovely day (and rain free, look at that!)

    1. Yup we had a lovely weekend without rain :-) But it's back today!! That's probably why everything looks so fresh and lovely. When the sun shines in Edinburgh it's the best city in the world :-) xox

  2. This looks like so much fun! Being able to just lay out in the sun with music playing is the best :) and all these photos make me want to go back to Edinburgh!

PS - Great finds with those candlesticks - they're awesome!
